A brown with reddish touches. This is the color of the year 2015 according to Pantone, the world’s leader reference in color which, from its headquarters in New Jersey, establishes the color trends which affect both fashion and design. Each year, a new tone is chosen and this 2015 is marsala which they define as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red”. A rich and deep hue that brings elegance and warmth and which the 080 Barcelona Fashion designers have used both on their collections for this Spring 2015 and for next Autumn-Winter 2015-16.

For spring, Manuel Bolaño is one who has dyed his collection in this color, foreseeing a trend which has really stood out in the last edition of Autumn-Winter 2015-16. Txell Mirasand Slazenger also introduced some touches in their summer designs.

In contrast, for the next Autumn-Winter there were quite more Catalan designers who presented outfits in marsala. Beginning with the opening show, as both Pablo Erroz and Edgar Carrascal included some outfits in marsala in their menswear collections. But this color also works for women as Txell MirasAldoMartins and, especially, Justicia Ruano showed on the runway. Custo Barcelona, Desigual, CND by Cóndor and the winners of the Premi Nacional de la Generalitat de Catalunya al Disseny Emergent Isometric also included the color of the year on their proposals on the catwalk.
